He graduated in civil engineering1983 from the ETH in Zurich. Then he worked for over 20 years in various project management and management functions for hydropower projects worldwide. He has been with SBB since the end of 2004 and, among other things, headed the group-wide Gotthard North-South Axis project organisation, which is responsible for all of SBB's work in connection with the commissioning of the Gotthard Base Tunnel. Since autumn 2016, he has been in charge of the Léman 2030 programme, which is responsible for expanding SBB's services and railway facilities in the Arc Lémanique with an investment volume of around 4 billion CHF.
